Detailed 7 Days Kenya & Rwanda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park – Game Drive & Guided Walking Safari
Upon arrival in Nairobi or after breakfast at your hotel, meet your professional safari guide and depart for Amboseli National Park, located at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. The drive takes you through the scenic Kenyan countryside before arriving at the park in time for lunch.
In the afternoon, head out on your first exciting game drive, exploring Amboseli’s open plains, swamps, and acacia woodlands in search of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, and numerous bird species. On clear days, enjoy breathtaking views of the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Later, enjoy a guided walking safari accompanied by an experienced guide, offering a unique opportunity to learn about the smaller wildlife, native plants, animal tracks, and the park’s ecosystem from a different perspective.

Day 2: Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve & Evening Game Drive
After an early breakfast, depart Amboseli and journey to the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. The scenic drive passes through the Great Rift Valley, offering spectacular viewpoints and opportunities to admire Kenya’s beautiful landscapes before arriving at the reserve.
After checking into your lodge and enjoying lunch, set out on an evening game drive across the vast savannah plains. Search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and numerous antelope species as wildlife becomes active during the cooler hours of the afternoon.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara National Reserve
Spend the entire day exploring one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations on a full-day game drive. With a packed lunch, venture deep into the reserve in search of the Big Five and many other iconic African animals.
Depending on the season, you may witness the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration, when thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River while predators closely follow. Throughout the day, enjoy exceptional wildlife viewing and photography opportunities while learning about the park’s diverse ecosystems from your expert guide.

Day 4: Transfer to Nairobi & Fly to Kigali, Rwanda
After breakfast, depart Maasai Mara and drive back to Nairobi. Upon arrival, transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital city.
Upon landing at Kigali International Airport, meet your Rwandan guide and transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, relax at your accommodation or enjoy a brief introduction to Kigali.

Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park & Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s beautiful rolling hills to Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas.
After checking into your lodge and having lunch, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village (Gorilla Guardians Village), where you will experience Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage. Enjoy traditional dance performances, local music, storytelling, traditional hunting demonstrations, banana beer brewing, and learn about the customs and history of local communities living near the national park.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by Rwanda Development Board rangers before beginning your unforgettable mountain gorilla trekking adventure.
Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, trek through the lush rainforest in search of one of the park’s habituated gorilla families. Once located, spend up to one hour observing these magnificent primates as they feed, groom, play, and interact in their natural habitat. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before checking out of your lodge and driving back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you may visit local craft markets or enjoy a brief city tour before transferring to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
