Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport – Transfer to Your Hotel
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our professional company representative who will warmly welcome you to the Land of a Thousand Hills. After a brief safari orientation, you will be introduced to your experienced English-speaking driver-guide who will accompany you throughout your journey.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park (Musanze)
After breakfast, begin your exploration of Kigali, one of Africa’s cleanest and safest cities. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a moving tribute that provides insight into Rwanda’s history and remarkable journey toward reconciliation and development.
Continue to Kimironko Local Market, where colorful stalls display fresh produce, handmade crafts, fabrics, and local souvenirs. If time allows, visit the Campaign Against Genocide Museum or local artisan centers to experience Rwanda’s vibrant culture.
Following lunch, depart Kigali and enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling green hills toward Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. Along the way, admire breathtaking landscapes dotted with terraced farms, traditional villages, and volcanic peaks.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village Tour
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for registration and a comprehensive briefing by park rangers. You will then be assigned one of the habituated mountain gorilla families based on your fitness level.
Begin your unforgettable trek through bamboo forests and lush mountain vegetation in search of these magnificent gentle giants. Depending on the location of the gorilla family, the trek may last between 2 and 6 hours.
Once the gorillas are located, spend one magical hour observing their fascinating behavior as they feed, groom, play, and interact naturally in their habitat. This extraordinary wildlife encounter remains one of Africa’s most rewarding experiences.
After descending from the forest, return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation.
In the afternoon, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village (Gorilla Guardians Village), where you’ll experience traditional Rwandan dances, music, storytelling, local crafts, and learn about the country’s cultural heritage and community conservation efforts.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking – Transfer to Lake Kivu (Gisenyi)
After breakfast, head back to Volcanoes National Park for another exciting primate adventure. Following a ranger briefing, set off into the bamboo forests in search of the endangered golden monkeys.
Unlike gorilla trekking, golden monkey trekking is generally easier and shorter, allowing visitors to enjoy close views of these energetic primates as they leap through the trees, forage for bamboo shoots, and play within their social groups.
After the trek, enjoy lunch before departing for the beautiful shores of Lake Kivu in Gisenyi.
The drive offers stunning views of rolling hills, rural communities, and the sparkling waters of Lake Kivu. Upon arrival, check into your lakeside hotel and spend the evening relaxing while enjoying spectacular sunset views over the lake.

Day 5: Lake Kivu Coffee Experience – Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

Learn how coffee is grown, harvested, washed, roasted, ground, and finally brewed. Finish the experience by tasting some of Rwanda’s finest specialty coffee while interacting with local communities.
After lunch, depart for Nyungwe National Park via one of Rwanda’s most scenic routes. The journey offers spectacular landscapes, tea plantations, rolling hills, and picturesque villages.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking – Canopy Walk – Tea Plantation Experience
Rise early for breakfast before heading to Nyungwe National Park headquarters for a briefing.
Begin your chimpanzee trekking adventure through one of Africa’s oldest tropical rainforests. Besides chimpanzees, the forest is home to over 13 primate species, numerous butterflies, orchids, and hundreds of bird species.
After locating the chimpanzees, spend time observing their lively behavior as they swing through the forest canopy, communicate with one another, and forage for food.
Following lunch, experience the famous Nyungwe Canopy Walk, suspended approximately 70 meters above the forest floor. The elevated bridge provides breathtaking panoramic views across the rainforest and offers excellent opportunities to spot birds, monkeys, and unique plant life.
Later, visit a nearby tea plantation to learn about tea cultivation and processing while enjoying beautiful views across the lush green fields.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Isumo Waterfall Hike – King’s Palace Museum – Return to Kigali
Enjoy breakfast before embarking on the popular Isumo Waterfall Trail within Nyungwe National Park.
This rewarding hike takes you through dense rainforest, across suspension bridges, and past beautiful streams before reaching the spectacular Isumo Waterfall hidden deep within the forest. Along the trail, keep an eye out for monkeys, colorful birds, butterflies, and unique flora.
After the hike, begin your journey back toward Kigali with a stop in Nyanza to visit the King’s Palace Museum. Discover Rwanda’s royal history while exploring the beautifully reconstructed traditional palace, learning about ancient monarchy, and viewing the famous long-horned Inyambo royal cattle.
Continue your drive to Kigali, arriving in the evening for check-in at your hotel.
